these are drawings and paintings i’ve done over the years with a variety of mediums — pencil, charcoal, pastel, paint. subject matter has fluttered around and i find myself making whatever it is that is happening in front of me.

there is a cluster of images of destroyed paintings that i should explain: a friend of mine made a short film about a painter who inevitably destroys his work in a fit of rage. i was commissioned to make these pieces and they were destroyed in the making of the film.

a lot of my drawings are made with pastel (most of the softer, fuzzier, colorful drawings), which has been a reductive process i’ve been working with over the last 5-6 years. however, it does not scale well, so most of these drawings remain in a relatively small form. nonetheless, this texture excites me.
